Overview
You are having a problem with the Ganglia Monitor where it is not running and cannot be started from the Ambari Deployment Interface. This is appearing on the Host alerts as red in the Ganglia Monitor service.
Solution
1. Start the Ganglia Monitor service if it doesnt, then check the following ambari logs:
/var/log/ambari-server/ambari-server.log
/var/log/ambari-server/ambari-server.out
/var/log/ambari-server/ambari-config-changes.log
/var/log/ambari-agent/ambari-agent.log
/var/log/ambari-agent/ambari-agent.out
If they indicate that the script was trying to install the package but it was not being found proceed to the below-mentioned step.
2. Check if the yum repository is disabled and httpd server is running or not. If the yum repository is enabled run the following command:
yum install /home/sensage/hawkeye-ap/repo/hawkeye-ap/root-components/ganglia-gmond-3.7.2-2.el7.x86_64.rpm
3. If yum repository is disabled then install the ganglia-gmond
package by running the following command as root
using SWM:
rpm -ivh /home/sensage/hawkeye-ap/repo/hawkeye-ap/root-components/ganglia-gmond-3.7.2-2.el7.x86_64.rpm
Start the Ganglia Monitor Service from the Ambari Interface.
The service will now appear green in the interface with no alerts.
