API File keeps Password in Open Text

Overview

You may want to encrypt the password for the Vcenter account in the case portal.

Information

The feature to encrypt the password is not available at the moment.

The Sensage AP Log adapter uses an external API to access VMWare configurations with a wrapper developed in PERL, which in turn uses vSphere SDK Perl script libraries. It is one of these libraries that reads the configuration file with the password, and not the EDW components.

Currently, the retriever script only supports a clear text password in the config file.

To provide a means to encrypt the password, and make it work with the vSphere SDK, this requirement is not currently supported by Sensage AP.

This needs to be filed as an enhancement request. If you would like to file this, then open a support request for the same.
