Advanced WRA New Features

Overview

Advanced Wake for Remote Access (WRA) refers to the additional features added to the WRA site providing users with a limited set of machines that the users are permitted to wake. This list is built from the machines that the user has previously logged on to.

This article provides information about these newly added features.

Information

Verdiem Surveyor 6 helps IT solve the challenge of providing remote access to desktops without adding extensive changes to end user’s process. Our improved “Wake for Remote Access” (WRA) website provides end users one-click access for waking their remote systems and initiating remote desktop connections (RDP).

Surveyor 6 provides the tools necessary, like Wake for Remote Access, to successfully implement an efficient power management policy with little impact to end users and IT.

NOTE: Advanced WRA feature is disabled by default and needs to be enabled explicitly.

There is no change in the functionality of WRA for an administrator.

When the user logs into WRA, it provides a list of machines that are recently logged in. This will help the user to wake the machines based on the permissions given in Surveyor.

After waking the machine, the user will be able to initiate an RDP session to the desired machine.

The steps in configuring wake permissions vary depending on the version. Refer to the Surveyor Administration Guide for the detailed information.
