Connect's Wake and Shutdown Menus Do Not Appear in Configmgr Console

Overview

After installing the console extension component of Verdiem Connect for Microsoft System Center, the Verdiem menus for changing collections' power states to wake and shutdown do not appear in the ConfigMgr console.

Root Cause

This issue occurs when the correct location for the console extension files is not available to the Connect's installer.

For example, it can occur if you install Connect for Microsoft System Center in the computer before you install the Configuration Manager console, or the user running the installer does not have the correct permissions on the folder in which Connect for Microsoft System Center needs to install the console extension files.

Resolution

Manually move or copy the console extension files from the incorrect location where they were installed to the correct location.

Correct location

Incorrect location

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\AdminConsole\

C:\Program Files\Verdiem\Power Management Pack for ConfigMgr\Bin\SCCM\

The files reside in both of the following directories:

  • Bin
  • XmlStorage\Extensions\Actions

Note: The Actions directory contains four subdirectories with Global Unique Identifiers (GUIDs) for names.

If these directories exist in the correct location, copy the files from the wrong location into the corresponding correct directories.

If the directories do not exist in the correct location yet, you can copy the full directories or create new folders manually before you copy the files over.

Note: On a 64-bit computer, the files are installed under Program Files (x86).
