Overview
Verdiem recognizes that some computer clients do not lend themselves well to power management for a variety of reasons. This article provides more information about these types of clients.
Information
Here are some examples of client usage that should be in an exempt group:
- 24-hour availability required
- Call center
- Kiosk
- Upper management
Verdiem recommends that you configure an Exempt group and specify No Standby in the policy assigned to the clients.
It is still recommended that you set an inactivity timeout on the Displays to gather some energy savings.
Any machines placed in the Exempt group should be designated as Preferred Wake on WAN proxies. This maximizes the potential for savings while recognizing that these machines will be powered on constantly.
