Regardless of display timeout setting in Windows, displays attached to an Intel G41, Q43, Q45, G43, or G54 graphic controller enter a low power mode after 5 minutes of inactivity.

Solution

Intel has released a video driver update to address stability and reliability with display output after a system resumes from Standby.

Known models affected

Verdiem is aware that the following models may be impacted, however the G41 chipset is very popular and we expect other devices could be impacted.
