Overview
Your CRM Studio client is failing to install on Windows 10.
This article outlines the correct installation procedure for the CRM Studio client on Windows 10.
Solution
CRM Studio client installation will fail if the client is already installed on the Everest client machine.
Follow these steps to ensure a successful installation:
- Check whether there is 'Everest Advanced Edition CRM Studio' in Add/Remove in the Control Panel and remove it/uninstall if it exists. If it does not exist, execute the following steps from the CRM installation folder:
- Run Everest Advanced Edition CRM Studio.exe and select the Remove option to remove the software.
- If the Remove option does not work, try a repair first and subsequently try to Remove after repairing.
- After successfully removing any existing installation, run Setup from the same folder to install CRM Studio. For more information on this step, see the CRM Studio Installation section in the attached CRM Studio User Guide.
- Execute the following post-installation steps:
- Create an ODBC Data Source Name in Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > ODBC Data Sources (32-bit) > System DSN and choose the shared server .mdb path i.e. %InstallDir%\Icode\Everest\ACRM\Data\KS_Inbox.mdb
- Associate the ODBC source for the ERS (E-mail Response System) database with the E-mail Response System in the Everest CRM Studio Architect by following these steps. See the Specify ODBC Source for ERS section from the CRM Studio User Guide for more information:
- From the main menu bar, select CRM > CRM Studio > Architect. You will see the Everest CRM Studio Architect dialog box.
- From the Event Management Folders panel in the center, highlight (click) the E-mail Response System branch and click the Properties button at the top of the Everest CRM Studio Architect dialog box. You will see the Everest CRM Studio - E-mail Response System Properties dialog box.
- Click the Edit Connection button. You will see the Everest CRM Studio - Edit Connection dialog box.
- From the ODBC Data Source Name drop-down list, select the ODBC source that you created for the ERS database.
- Click Save and Close. You will again see the Everest CRM Studio - E-mail Response System Properties dialog box.
- Click OK
- Create an ODBC Data Source Name in Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > ODBC Data Sources (32-bit) > System DSN and choose the shared server .mdb path i.e. %InstallDir%\Icode\Everest\ACRM\Data\KS_Inbox.mdb
Testing
CRM Studio client should be successfully installed on the Everest client running on Windows 10.
