Everest is timing out when running credits

Overview

You are unable to run all credits without the system timing out. You can only run a small number of credits at a time for large customers and it's very time-consuming. Database space has been freed up, but the issue persists. Additionally, Everest stores multiple addresses for each customer.

Solution

To resolve this issue and improve system performance, please perform the Database Reindexing and Defrag operations. Ideally, defragmentation and reindex should be done after hours. There are two methods of how you can do this, as described in our article Performance Issue: Long Loading Times.

After the above operations have completed, reboot your server. Please note that nobody should be accessing the database. Depending on the size of the database, it can take several hours. Please ensure that a complete backup of the database is complete before making any changes.

Testing

After performing the database defragmentation and reindexing, the application will not time-out and the general performance of the system will have been improved.

If the issue persists and you are still experiencing performance issues, please contact support, and share with us the server log files.

Depending on your operating system version, the Everest error logs can be found in the following locations:

  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Everest\Temp.
  • C:\ProgramData\Everest\Temp

The log in question is the svrerr.log file.
