Overview

A user is having issues sending reports using the email function. The user will get an error saying "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client." However, Outlook is the default email client.

Solution

This issue may be caused by a malfunctioning installation of Outlook.

How to identify

Right-clicking on a file in Windows Explorer and choosing Send To > Mail recipient does not allow it to be attached to Outlook, and causes the same error.

Resolution

The solution is to re-install Outlook on the affected workstation.

Testing

After reinstalling Outlook, the user is now able to send reports via email. If the issue is still manifesting, please contact support.
