Overview
This article explains if the re-indexing feature found in the Everest application triggers the same re-indexing logic as found in the database using the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
Information
Please note that the re-index feature in Everest corresponds to the re-index stored procedure in the company database found through SQL Server Management Studio.
The two actions offered by the Everest application are mapped as follows:
- The Rebuild Indexes action executes the
DATABASE_REINDEXprocedure on the current company database - The Defrag Indexes action executes the
INDEX_DEFRAGMENTATIONprocedure on the current company database
