Overview
This article details the Everest permissions that only the "SUPERVISORS" group has that cannot be set by normal security.
Information
The special privileges assigned to the Supervisor group are granted by two components:
Security Rights
The Workstation Settings: Enable Extended Mode
security rights (Security ID 363) contains the special privileges for the SUPERVISORS group.
To add these special privileges to a user, you need to use the Security Rights browser:

From the main menu bar, select File > Setup > Security Rights.
This will launch the Security Rights browser. - Click on the Description table header in the left panel to enable Search by Description and search for "Workstation Settings: Enable Extended Mode".
Alternatively, you can search by the Security ID for this Security Right, which is 363, without having to change the search mode. - Verify that the Users tab is selected on the right panel.
- Select the required role in the left panel.

Select the required user in the Users not assigned column and click the < button underneath the list. Alternatively, you can right-click on the user, and choose the Add option.
To assign a right to all users, click on the << button, or right-click anywhere in the column and choose the Add All option. - Click on the Save button to save the changes.
Group
You can add the specific user to the SUPERVISORS group, in such cases that the special privileges you are looking for are designed only for the super administrator user:
To add the user to this group, follow the steps below:

From the main menu bar, select File > Setup > Users > Users belonging to group.

Select the SUPERVISORS group in the left panel.
- Select the required user in the Users not in group column and click the < button next to the list. Alternatively, you can right-click on the user, and choose the Add option.
To all the users to the group, click on the << button, or right-click anywhere in the column and choose the Add All option. - Click on the Save button to save the changes.
Note that in versions of Everest prior to 6.x there was a checkbox in the Workstation Settings (FIle > Setup > Preferences > Workstation Settings) for enabling Extended Mode. This checkbox is no longer there in subsequent releases but the access rights provided by Workstation Settings: Enable Extended Mode
(Security ID 363) security rights are unchanged and work in the same way i.e.
- This Security Right (Security ID 363) contains the special privileges for the Supervisor group
- The Security Right allows users to view extra information/additional columns not visible to other users e.g. Cost information.
