This article provides a solution for users unable to print and preview reports due to the following error:
Error 588 : Error:524 in File : Print Job Busy
The above error occurs due to Windows DEP (Data Execution Prevention) settings and is resolved by following these steps on the specific workstation/server that is experiencing the issue:
- Open Windows Explorer > highlight 'Computer' > Right-click > Properties
- Select Advanced System Settings on the System properties window
- Select 'Advanced' tab > Click on 'Settings' under 'Performance'
- On Performance Options window > select 'Data Execution Prevention' tab
- Check 'Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only'
- Select 'Apply' and close the window
- Reboot the server/workstation once the above is done
Users should be able to run and print reports without errors.
