Missing Assets in the Chute Plugin


At times, while sending Rights Requests through the Chute browser plugin, the requested Assets do not appear in the plugin window queue.



This article explains how to resolve this issue by removing the current version of the Chute plugin and installing the latest version.


Root Cause

When you initiate a Rights Request offer, it displays the Asset in the Chute plugin once it is queued. Here, you would click on the Asset to complete the posting of the comment as described in the Processing Rights Requests article.

If the queued Asset does not show up in the plugin, it is mostly due to a damaged or outdated Chute plugin.


  1. Go to Chrome Extensions by clicking on the three-dots icon at the top right corner of the browser.
  2. Select More tools Extensions.

  3. Look for the Chute Rights extension and click on the Remove button to uninstall it.

  4. Click on Remove on the second prompt window to confirm.
  5. Download the new version of the Chrome Rights plugin.
  6. Click on the Add to Chrome button.

  7. Click on the Add extension button to confirm.


    • The version of the Chute plugin should say Chute Rights 1.0.3.

  8. Open the plugin and check if the missing Assets are now showing.
    • If the problem is solved, you can continue using the plugin to request for Rights.
    • If the problem persists, reset the Chrome settings by following the steps in the article: Reset Chrome settings to default. DO NOT forget to enable the plugin after resetting the Chrome settings.
      1. Click on the three-dots icon at the top right corner of the Chrome browser.
      2. Go to More Tools > Extensions.

      3. Look for the Chute Rights plugin and switch the slider to enable it.


        NOTE: When done, you can go back to the plugin and send Rights Requests again to test.
