We are happy to share the release notes for the Infobright IEE-MySQL 4.8.0p1.

Summary

This major release introduces significant bug fixes and enhancements, particularly addressing memory management, query accuracy, and system performance.

Features

  • Infobright License Requirement: Every instance now requires a valid license file, named infobright.lic, located in the data directory.
  • Configuration Changes: Parameter overrides are now managed through the infobright.cnf file, replacing the deprecated .infobright and brighthouse.ini files. New mechanisms for specifying Import/Export parameters have been added.
  • Logging Enhancements: Logs have been revised to be stored solely in infobright.log with new features such as log rotation and dynamic logging levels.
  • Replication Enhancements: Infobright tables are now supported for replication when loaded with the Infobright loader.
  • Memory Management Improvements: Internal algorithms have been optimized to reduce memory fragmentation and improve efficiency.
