Infobright DLP 4.8.1 Release Notes

Introduction

We are happy to share the release notes for the Infobright DLP 4.8.1

Summary

This release includes several important changes, primarily focusing on license requirements, enhanced logging functionalities, and critical updates to component names.

Features

  • DLP License Requirement: Every instance of DLP now requires a valid license file, named infobright.lic, located in the installation directory.
  • Logging Enhancements: Logs are now written to dlp.log, replacing the obsolete dataprocessor.log, with an option to control the information level through the new log-level DLP option.
  • Component Rename: Key components have been renamed, including the DLP binary changing from dataprocessor to dlp, and the configuration file changing from .dataprocessorrc to dlp.cnf.
  • Platform Support: RHEL and CentOS 7.x 64-bit are now supported.

Bugfixes

Several issues have been addressed in this release, including a fix for the specification of the server option in the dlp.cnf file.

Installation Instructions

The installation procedures for both Windows and Linux are outlined in detail in the user guide. Below are the summarized steps for each:

Windows Installation

  1. Log into the Customer Portal and download the zipped install package.
  2. Unzip to an .exe install package.
  3. Double click on the .exe file and follow the installation instructions.

Linux Installation

  1. Download the installation package suitable for your platform.
  2. Gain root access and execute the installation using rpm -i or dpkg -i.

For both platforms, ensure a valid license file is in place for the DLP to function properly.
