Tech Illustrator Tutorial Videos Release Notes

We are happy to share the release notes for the Tech Illustrator Tutorial Videos version TI_Tutorial_Videos.zip.

Installation Instructions

To install the Tech Illustrator Tutorial videos, unzip the archive, “TI_Tutorial_Videos.zip,” to the “Docs” sub-directory of your Tech Illustrator installation. The typical path is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Auto-trol\TI\docs\. Older versions may be located at: C:\Program Files x86\Auto-trol\TI \ or another location chosen during installation.

A file named “\docs\English\TiTutorial.html” will be replaced, and a new directory “\docs\English\Tutorial Videos” will be created. When prompted to merge the “English” folders and replace “TiTutorial.html,” grant permission to proceed.

Viewing the Tutorial Videos

To watch the videos, navigate to “Help > Tutorial Videos...” in the Tech Illustrator application or open “\docs\English\TiTutorial.html” using a web browser. This will display a webpage listing the various video topics, allowing users to access individual videos by clicking their links.

The first time a video is played, users may see a security prompt requesting permission to install the TechSmith Screen Capture codec. It’s important to grant this permission for successful video playback. If the codec is already installed, users can decline further requests for subsequent videos.

Alternate Viewing Method

Due to Windows security constraints, users may choose to unzip the videos into a separate directory, such as the user's Documents folder. In this case, users can browse for the desired videos using Windows Explorer and run them by double-clicking the video files.
