Infobright DLP 5.0.1 Release Notes

Introduction

We are happy to share the release notes for the Infobright DLP version 5.0.1.

Summary

The Infobright DLP 5.0.1 release introduces several important updates, including a new logging system, component renames, and enhancements to licensing requirements.

Features

  • Logging Enhancements: DLP logs are now recorded in a new file called dlp.log instead of the obsolete dataprocessor.log. Users can control log verbosity by setting the new log-level option.
  • Component Renames: Key components have been renamed for clarity. The DLP binary is now dlp (formerly dataprocessor), and the default configuration file is now dlp.cnf instead of .dataprocessorrc.

Bugfixes

  • New License Key Requirement: All instances of DLP now require a new license key, invalidating previous ones. Users must obtain a new license from Infobright Support.
  • Additional enhancements include the addition of the --client-encoding option to allow users to override console encoding.

Installation Instructions

Installation follows different protocols for Windows and Linux.

  • Windows Installation:
    1. Download the installation package from the Customer Portal.
    2. Unzip the package and execute the .exe file.
    3. Install and ensure a valid license file (infobright.lic) is present in the installation directory.
  • Linux Installation:
    1. Download the appropriate .rpm or .deb package from the Customer Portal.
    2. Install using rpm -i or dpkg -i, ensuring the license file is available in the installation directory.

Important Notes

As of this release, users must be aware that:

  • The default license file name is infobright.lic.
  • There are changes to the default configuration file used in prior releases; back it up if it has custom settings.
