Introduction

We are happy to share the release notes for the Infobright DB 5.0.5 .

Summary

The main changes in version 5.0.5 include several product enhancements and resolutions to various issues identified during internal testing and reported by customers.

Product Enhancements

  • Added support for Debian 8 platform.
  • Introduced an optimized CONCAT_WS function.
  • Improved performance for POSIX Regular Expressions with support for operators: ~, ~*, !~, !~.
  • Enhanced the DATE_TRUNC() function to support TIMESTAMP and DATE data types.
  • Added support for optimized bitwise AND operator '&', LEFT SHIFT '<<', RIGHT SHIFT '>>', and TO_DATE() function.
  • Automatically copy infobright.cnf.sample to infobright.cnf on a new install.
  • Print hardware, OS, and timezone settings to infobright.log upon engine startup.
  • Included version information in the startup log.

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed incorrect results in DIV(y,x) function when x and y are numerics (not integers).
  • Resolved issues with TRUNC() function not truncating decimals correctly.
  • Addressed several service reliability issues after installation and package upgrades.
  • Improved consistency for the select version() command across different operating systems.
  • Fixed crashes related to the ICM when performing full checks on specific tables.
