ObjectStore Standard 2018.2 Release Notes

Introduction

We are happy to share the release notes for the ObjectStore Standard 2018.2 (2013.0 update 14).

Summary

This release is a maintenance release intended to improve stability and functionality based on customer feedback.

Features

Several critical issues have been addressed and fixed in this update:

  • Resolved issues causing server crashes and unexpected behavior.
  • Adjusted default settings for optimal performance in high-transaction scenarios.
  • Improved compatibility with previous versions regarding character storage.

Bugfixes

The following bugs have been fixed:

  • OSCID-35391: Fixed a crash caused by out of virtual memory when running osverifydb -F in 32-bit environments.
  • OSCID-32585: Addressed the issue of the ObjectStore server becoming unresponsive.
  • OSCID-32696: Fixed assertion failure relating to database transactions.
  • OSCID-34408: Resolved a runtime error that was not being flagged by the compiler.
  • OSCID-35590: Corrected storage of strings containing the "\0" character.

Known Issues

There are still a few known issues that users should be aware of:

  • Databases exceeding 1 TB may lead to server crashes and potential data loss.
  • Cursor iteration order issues when using multiple virtual inheritances.
