Infobright DLP 4.8.2 Release Notes

Introduction

We are happy to share the release notes for the Infobright DLP 4.8.2.

Summary

Infobright DLP 4.8.2 has been released with no new changes from the previous version 4.8.1. This release ensures synchronization with the IEE-MySQL and IEE-Postgres 4.8.2 releases and includes all resolved issues and enhancements from prior versions.

Features

• Licensing: Every instance of DLP requires a valid license file (infobright.lic). This file must be obtained from Infobright Support prior to installation or upgrade. Without it, DLP will not run.
• Logging Enhancements: Logs are now written to dlp.log instead of the obsolete dataprocessor.log. The amount of information logged can be controlled using the new log-level option.
• Component Rename: The DLP binary was renamed from dataprocessor to dlp, and the configuration file was renamed from .dataprocessorrc to dlp.cnf.
• New Platform Support: DLP now supports RHEL and CentOS 7.x 64-bit.

Bugfixes

While there are no new bug fixes in version 4.8.2 specifically, it includes all previously resolved issues from versions prior to 4.8.2.

Installation Instructions

Windows Installation

1. Download the installation package from the Customer Portal.
2. Unzip to an .exe install package.
3. Run the installer and follow the prompts, defaulting to the installation location:

C:\Program Files\Infobright Products\DLP

4. Ensure that the valid license file infobright.lic is in the installation directory.

Linux Installation

1. Download the installation package using the appropriate method for your distribution (RPM or DPKG).
2. Run the required command with root access:
• rpm -i infobright-dlp--.rpm
• dpkg -i infobright-dlp--.deb
3. Valid license file requirements are the same as in Windows.

Important Notes

• Ensure all scripts calling DLP are updated to use dlp instead of dataprocessor and the configuration file adjustments, if applicable.
