Introduction

We are happy to share the release notes for the Infobright DLP 5.0.3.

Summary

The main changes in this version include enhancements in memory management, installation requirements for a valid license file, and improvements in logging functionality.

Features

  • License Requirement: Every instance of DLP now requires a valid license file, named infobright.lic, obtainable from Infobright Support.
  • Logging Enhancements: Logs are now written to dlp.log, with the ability to adjust the verbosity through the new log-level option.
  • Component Renaming: Changes include the DLP binary being renamed from dataprocessor to dlp, and the configuration file has changed from .dataprocessorrc to dlp.cnf.
  • Memory Management Improvements: Upgraded third-party component gperftools to version 2.5 to address potential memory allocation issues.

Bugfixes

  • Import/Export Issues: Resolved potential crashes of bhloader due to memory overconsumption, particularly when using the -X option.

Installation Instructions

For both Windows and Linux installations, users must download the installation package from the Customer Portal and follow specific installation guidelines. Ensure to have administrator/root access for successful installation and uninstallation.

Windows Installation

  1. Download the zipped install package and extract it.
  2. Run the executable and follow the prompts; the default installation path is C:\Program Files\Infobright Products\DLP.

Linux Installation

  1. Download the required RPM or DPKG file.
  2. Run the installation command using rpm -i or dpkg -i.
  3. The default installation path is /usr/local/infobright-products/dlp.
