ObjectStore Release 2016.0 Beta

Introduction

We are happy to share the release notes for the ObjectStore 2016.0 Beta.

Summary

This release includes enhancements, bug fixes, and important changes that affect the usage of ObjectStore.

New Features

• Support for Java Enums and JDK 5 Generics added.
• Improved hostname resolution mechanisms to enhance application performance.
• Schema evolution API enhancements for better schema management.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed schema write-lock conflicts that occurred immediately following schema installations.
• Resolved issues with multiple threads in OSJI applications that led to unexpected exceptions.
• Various minor issues in the Data Services Administrator (DSA) such as “stuck” tooltips and form focus behavior.

Supported Platforms

ObjectStore Release 2016.0 is supported on the following platforms:

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 & 7.1
• Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012

Installation

Installation requires a valid ObjectStore license file. Please ensure to follow instructions in the Installation Guide provided with the software.

Restrictions and Limitations

The following limitations are noted:

• 32-bit OSNI not supported on 64-bit Windows operating systems.
• Internet Explorer versions 9 and above cannot correctly display the System Administration Tool interface.
• Cannot represent 64-bit integer values in schema.
