Introduction

We are happy to share the release notes for the Performance Analyzer 5G (PA5G) and Acorn Advanced Analytics Version 3 (AAAv3) 2022.10, released in October 2022.

Summary

The main changes in this release emphasize improved stability and performance along with the resolution of several issues identified through rigorous internal testing.

New Features

Enhancements have been made to increase overall application performance. Bugs related to the DBLOOKUPMULTIKEY functionality have also been addressed.

Bugfixes

A significant bug was resolved regarding unexpected differences in results from DBLOOKUPMULTIKEY when migrating from the previous version (2022.5). A row with a NULL value now correctly returns a defined default value instead of zero.

Platforms Supported

• Database Server: Supports various Windows Server releases alongside SQL Server versions, with a strong recommendation for Windows Server 2016.
• Application Server: Runs on Windows Server 2016 and 2019 and requires .Net Framework v4.6.2.
• Client Requirements: Various modern web browsers (latest versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari) are supported.

Upgrade and Installation Notes

• Ensure to open firewall ports required for SQL Server 2016, specifically TCP port 1433 and dynamic ports between 1024 and 5000.
• Set database compatibility level to “SQL Server 2016 (130).”
• Follow installer instructions to first unzip the package and run it with administrative privileges.

Known Issues

• Odd results can occur in cost allocations when combining corporate and facility costs; it is recommended to separate these into distinct processes.
• There is a retry mechanism for the AAA Load&Process function that needs improvement when connectivity to SQL Server fails, which is currently ignored.
