Introduction
We are happy to share the release notes for the ObjectStore Standard 2024.0.
Summary
The main changes in this release include support enhancements, resolved issues, and the introduction of new features aimed at improving user experience and software stability.
New Features
- Visual Studio 2022 (up to version 17.2) support has been added.
- The environment variable OS_SERVER_RESERVE_MEMORY has been introduced, which allows the reservation of memory for emergency conditions at server start. The recommended initial reserved memory is 2 MiB.
- New architectures for MSVC2019 x32 and x64 have been added.
Resolved Issues
- Incorrect file versionings of executable binaries have been corrected to ensure consistency.
- Updated the libexpat library to version 2.6.2 to address a security vulnerability.
- Fixed compilation errors when building with C++20.
- Addressed issues with the Data Services Administrator component and improved stability and performance.
Notable Changes
Support Discontinuation
Consumer-grade Windows versions (7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11) are no longer supported. Support is limited to Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, and specific RHEL versions.
Known Issues
When updating to ObjectStore 2024.0 or later, ensure that the registry keys are updated from “ObjectStore 2013” to the latest major version.
How to Embed ObjectStore Components into an Installer
Instructions for integrating ObjectStore into another installer have been included. Installation requires zipping files from the installation directory and managing registry settings upon the target system installation.
