Introduction
We are happy to share the release notes for the Acorn Performance Analyzer 5G (PA5G) and Acorn Advanced Analytics Version 3 (AAAv3) 2022.5.
Summary
This release focuses on high quality and stability improvements based on customer feedback. Enhancements include resolved issues and upgraded system requirements.
New Features
Notable new features include updated database support and enhancements to the retry mechanism for Load&Process in the AAA application to improve resilience against connectivity issues.
Resolved Issues
One key resolved issue is related to the Legacy Cardinality Estimation being turned off during upgrades, which has now been fixed.
Platforms Supported
- Database Server: Microsoft SQL Server 2019, 2017, and 2016 Enterprise Editions.
- Operation Systems: Recommended Windows Server 2016, and Windows Server 2019.
- .Net Framework: .Net Framework v4.6.2.
- Web Browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari (latest versions).
Upgrade and Installation Notes
Port Changes
Ensure to open specific ports (TCP 1433) for Microsoft SQL Server 2016 in the firewall for proper operation.
Database Compatibility Level
The PA5G database Compatibility Level must be set to SQL Server 2016 (130).
Installer Package Instructions
Unzip the installer and run the setup.exe with elevated permissions. Do not run it directly from the zipped file.
AG-Grid License Requirement
Both PA5G and AAA production deployments require an AG-Grid license, which is not needed in non-production environments.
Known Issues
- Mixed corporate and facility costs in processes can yield odd results; best practice is to separate these costs into distinct processes.
- AAA Load&Process can occasionally fail due to deadlocks under certain conditions. Adjusting the ThreadCount configuration may alleviate this issue.
- AAA tables may contain irrelevant data for certain processed time periods, affecting database performance.
