Issue Description:
Users experience extended delays, up to two hours, when running the pull sheet process in Everest. In many cases, the process fails to complete, requiring users to restart the pull sheet operation from the beginning.
Common Symptoms:
- Pull sheet process takes significantly longer than expected (up to 2 hours).
- Pull sheet process fails to complete without specific error messages.
- System freezes or crashes during pull sheet generation.
Root Cause
Several factors could contribute to these performance issues, including:
- Inefficient queries within the Everest system database.
- Lack of necessary indexes on critical tables.
- System resource limitations (CPU, memory, or disk usage).
- Network latency or connectivity issues.
- Application-level customizations or misconfigurations.
Resolution:
1. Adding an Index to the Pick Ticket Details Table:
To improve the speed of running pull sheets, adding an index to the X_PICK_TICKET table is a recommended solution. Follow these steps:
- Open SQL Server Management Studio on the server system.
- In the Object Explorer window, navigate to your company database.
- Right-click on the database name and select "New Query."

2. Changing Printing Preferences:
If the system freezes while printing large numbers of Pick Tickets or Pull Sheets, printing them to PDF first can help avoid crashes. Follow these steps:
- Navigate to Inventory > Pull Sheets.
- Open the Pull Sheet containing the Pick Tickets to be printed.
- Go to Options > Print Pick Tickets.
- In the Printing Preferences dialog, select "Microsoft Print to PDF" or "Export to PDF."
- If using the Pull Sheet Wizard, change the printer driver name to "Microsoft Print to PDF" in the Print dialog.
